The ChainSkins extension is your non-custodial wallet: your keys are created and stored encrypted in your browser, and payments are signed there. ChainSkins never has access to your funds.
It works on Chromium-based browsers: Google Chrome, Brave, Microsoft Edge and similar.
1. Install the extension
Install it only from the link on chainskins.net (for example, Profile → Settings → ChainSkins Extension → Install). Fake extensions are a common scam — see Stay safe on ChainSkins.
2. Create your wallet
Open the extension and create a new wallet, or choose I already have a wallet to restore one with your recovery phrase.
Then create a password (at least 8 characters). You’ll use it to unlock the extension.
3. Back up your Secret Recovery Phrase
The extension shows your Secret Recovery Phrase. Write it down on paper and keep it somewhere safe and offline.
Important: Anyone with your recovery phrase controls your funds. ChainSkins staff will never ask for it. If you lose it and forget your password, nobody can recover your wallet.
4. Activate your coins
Some coins need a one-time activation before they can receive funds:
- XRP: the XRP Ledger requires a small reserve held in every account.
- USDC / USDT on Solana: a token account has to be created once.
The extension walks you through it and shows the fee before you confirm.
5. Fund your wallet (to buy)
Open Receive in the extension to see your addresses, and send XRP, USDC or USDT to them from an exchange or another wallet. Always double-check the network: XRP on the XRP Ledger, USDC/USDT on Solana.
6. Connect with ChainSkins
Log in on chainskins.net with the extension installed. Your wallet addresses are linked to your profile automatically — you can see them in Profile → Wallet.
